What’s it all About?
I started to develop this class around 2017 while I still had my studios – I used it to help deal with my own stress – but I really focused on developing it after I closed the studios in 2019 when I finally had more time. I managed to get one workshop in before the lockdowns, and thereafter started teaching the class on Zoom .
I always felt affirmations were a useful technique, but the way they really work is through repetition, getting in to the right brainwave frequency of Theta (as with Meditation and Hypnosis) and most importantly feeling the emotion of having what you want already.
I always found that I felt quite different at the end of a dance class compared to how I felt at the beginning. Any problems and stress had been left at the door and so I decided to develop Danceffirmations to use dance to create the frequency necessary to make the affirmation work. The moves work through all the chakras, and build energy and flexibility and the choreographies reflect the meaning of the affirmations. Combined with the stretch and strengthening exercises, Chakra meditations and positive visualisation, this class has the power to de-stress your body and mind and change the subconscious beliefs and programs running in our brains that don’t serve us. I have a whole range of Danceffirmations covering insomnia, overcoming fear, weight gain/loss, forgiveness, trusting and loving yourself, abundance and much more.
